Business Automation Weekly AI News

February 9 - February 17, 2026

Artificial Intelligence is changing how businesses work by automating tasks that people used to do by hand. AI agents — computer programs that can think and make decisions on their own — are becoming the top tool that companies use to grow their business. In 2026, about 87% of companies are using some kind of AI, and over half are using AI agents to handle jobs like talking to customers, writing emails, and finding new business opportunities.

These AI agents are saving workers time. Salesforce found that companies using AI agents save over one-third of the time workers spend on research and writing content. Big technology companies like Microsoft and OpenAI are creating these agents, and even Chinese companies like MiniMax are building powerful AI agents that cost much less money than before. In professional services firms — companies that help other businesses with legal work, accounting, and planning — about 40% of workers now use AI tools, and more are planning to use AI agents soon.

However, there are important challenges. Many companies struggle because their computer systems don't work well together, and their data isn't clean or organized. This makes it harder for AI agents to do their jobs properly. Also, while AI can automate many jobs, business leaders say the most important decisions still need humans to think them through and take responsibility. Companies like C.H. Robinson in the transportation business have found success with AI, getting 40% more work done while keeping quality high. As AI agents become more powerful, companies are learning that AI works best when humans and computers work together, not when one replaces the other.
