Workforce Impact (from employee side) Weekly AI News
November 3 - November 11, 2025Artificial intelligence is causing major job losses across the world, and this week brought new data showing how serious the problem is. In October 2025, 153,074 American workers lost their jobs, which is more than 175% higher than October 2024. Artificial intelligence was the second-biggest reason companies cut jobs, causing 31,039 layoffs in just one month. Already in 2025, nearly 78,000 jobs have been eliminated because of AI. The impact is hitting junior workers and entry-level employees the hardest. Workers are very worried—34.7% of all employees are concerned that AI will take away their jobs or change their work completely. However, only 22.4% of companies say they will help workers learn new skills, leaving many people on their own. To help track what is happening, United States senators introduced a new bill this week requiring big companies and the government to report how many jobs AI is replacing. Experts warn that 14% of workers worldwide (about 375 million people) may have to change careers completely by 2030 because of AI.
