Workforce Impact (from employee side) Weekly AI News
June 2 - June 10, 2025This week saw major developments in how AI agents are changing work globally.
Workers using AI tools saw big boosts in productivity and pay. Jobs in finance and tech that use AI saw 27% productivity growth since 2022 - nearly four times higher than before AI. Companies are paying 56% more for workers skilled in AI.
But entry-level jobs are disappearing. New data shows 19% fewer job listings for tasks AI can do, like basic office work. Big companies like Shopify now require managers to prove AI can’t do a job before hiring humans.
Some leaders warn of societal upheaval. Palantir’s CEO said AI could help workers but only if companies work hard to prevent problems. Education platform Chegg cut 22% of staff while shifting to AI tools.
While white-collar jobs change fastest, even easily automated roles like data entry are growing slightly as workers learn to team with AI. Experts say workers using AI will replace those who don’t adapt.
