Big Tech Companies Team Up for AI Agent Growth

This week has been huge for AI agents and companies working together. An AI agent is like a super-smart computer helper that can plan out a whole job and then do it all by itself, without a person telling it what to do every step of the way. Anthropic, a company that makes powerful AI, joined up with Infosys, a big technology company in India, to build AI agents for important businesses like phone companies and banks. These two companies will use something called the Claude Agent SDK to help other companies create their own AI agents. Infosys already has lots of people using Claude AI to build apps and write computer code.

In another big team-up, a company called Asymbl announced it is working more closely with Salesforce, which makes software that helps businesses run smoothly. Together, they are building AI agents that work right alongside people as teammates. Asymbl's main idea is that the future of work is not just people, and not just computers—it is people and computers working together. They are using Salesforce's Agentforce 360 Platform, which is a special tool for making and controlling AI agents. This kind of teamwork helps companies let AI agents handle boring repetitive jobs while people focus on thinking about bigger questions.

New Government Rules Keep AI Agents Safe

The United States government decided this week that it is time to create rules for AI agents to keep them safe and make sure they all work well together. On February 17, the government's Center for AI Standards and Innovation (CAISI) announced the "AI Agent Standards Initiative". This is basically saying that the government will help make sure AI agents are trustworthy and can work together smoothly without breaking down. Right now, the big problem is that different AI agents made by different companies do not always work together well, kind of like if you had toys from different stores that did not fit together. The government wants to fix this so that all AI agents can be friends and work as a team.

AI Agents Are Changing How Stores Work

Stores and shopping are changing because of agentic AI. Big companies like Google are upgrading their search tools so that AI agents can actually buy things for people. Instead of just searching for "blue shirt," a shopper can now say, "Find me a blue shirt I can wear to a fancy party in San Francisco," and the AI agent figures out everything needed. Some stores now use AI agents to keep track of what items are in the store, how much things cost, and when to order more stuff. About 7 out of 10 stores have already started testing these AI agents to see if they make stores run better.

AI Agents Help Build Computer Software

Computer programmers are getting help from AI agents that can write code and test it. The Claude Code tool helps developers write, test, and fix computer code faster than ever before. In 2026, AI agents are becoming like the first person to draft a whole project—they create the first version, and then humans look at it and make it better. One study found that companies using agentic AI are saving money and making more profit because their workers do not have to spend time on boring jobs.

Companies Are Still Worried But Moving Forward

Even though AI agents are amazing, many companies have questions. The biggest worry is whether AI agents are safe and whether they will keep secret information private. Also, managing lots of AI agents working at the same time is tricky, and companies say it is hard to find people who know how to do this kind of work. But that does not stop companies from trying! About half of companies are already using AI agents in their real work, and many are planning to use them for even more jobs. The best use right now seems to be in keeping watch over computers and systems, where AI agents are really good at finding problems.

Personal AI Assistants Are Here

Samsung announced that its phones now have more AI agent choices that people can pick from. Most people are using at least two or three different AI agents for different tasks, depending on what they need help with. This shows that AI agents are not just something big companies use anymore—regular people are starting to use them every day. Samsung is letting people choose which AI helper they want to use, just like picking your favorite tool from a toolbox.
