Workers around the world are facing big changes at work because of artificial intelligence, and many are worried about what it means for their jobs. This week, new reports show that most workers think AI will take away more jobs than it creates, with about 60% of employees expressing this concern. At the same time, companies are dealing with what experts call culture dissonance, which means the workplace promises don't match reality anymore. Many organizations expect workers to do more while offering less in return, without giving them raises, better schedules, or extra benefits. Workers are also noticing that while AI tools help save time at work by handling repetitive tasks, companies often don't give them training to use these tools properly. About 73% of workers say they want higher salaries as their top priority for the year. The reports also show that workers are stressed and worried—51% are anxious about losing their jobs to AI in 2026, with 10% extremely worried. Meanwhile, only 4% of workers believe AI will create more jobs than it eliminates, showing how little confidence people have that new opportunities will replace lost ones.
