Manufacturing Weekly AI News

September 15 - September 23, 2025

This weekly update shows AI agents are changing how factories work around the world. Companies are using smart computer helpers to watch machines, plan production, and fix problems before they happen.

Bausch + Lomb, a contact lens maker, uses AI software called Atlas to predict when machines might break. This helps workers fix problems early and make millions more lenses. The company tested this AI helper in Rochester and now uses it on three production lines.

Many pet food and battery companies are also trying agentic AI tools. Spot & Tango, a dog food maker in Pennsylvania, uses AI to automatically order ingredients and plan when to make food. The AI helper now handles about 60% of their purchase orders without human help.

A big survey found that 77% of manufacturers want to spend more money on AI next year. This shows factory owners believe AI agents will help them make products faster and better.

Software companies are making AI copilots for factory workers too. These smart helpers can write computer programs that control machines. Companies like CloudNC and LimitlessCNC make AI tools that help workers program robots and cutting machines in just minutes instead of hours.

The changes are happening fast. FranklinWH, which makes home batteries in California, uses AI cameras to check if products are made correctly. The AI learns from watching the production line and gets better at spotting problems over time.
