Creative Industries Weekly AI News
December 8 - December 16, 2025This weekly update explores how agentic AI is transforming creative industries and how brands are adapting to AI-powered conversations. Major tech companies have created new standards and tools that help AI agents work better with creative software and services.
One of the biggest developments is the creation of the Agentic AI Foundation by companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Block. This foundation is building standards called the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which works like a universal connector for AI agents. Think of it like a USB cable that lets different devices talk to each other. With MCP, AI agents can now connect to creative tools, apps, and services in a consistent way. This means AI agents can do tasks across multiple platforms without needing custom connections for each one.
Creative companies are also racing to add AI features directly into their tools. Adobe has integrated its popular programs like Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat into ChatGPT. Users can now edit images, create graphics, and work with PDFs right inside the AI conversation without switching between different apps. This makes creative work faster and easier.
OpenAI has launched special apps for brands including Spotify, Zillow, Canva, and Booking.com inside ChatGPT. These in-chat apps bring services directly into AI conversations, letting users discover and use brands without leaving the chat. ChatGPT now receives about 2.5 billion daily prompts from users worldwide.
Research shows that creative jobs are actually growing rather than disappearing, even with AI advancement. A study examining millions of job postings in the United Kingdom found that employers want both AI skills and creativity combined together. Companies are looking for people who can use AI tools while maintaining creative thinking.
However, not all AI-generated creative content works well. Fast food brand McDonald's in the Netherlands had to remove a holiday advertisement after people complained about strange visuals and odd animations in the AI-made video. This shows that while AI can help create content, human review and creative direction are still essential for quality work.
Looking ahead, companies like Anthropic are preparing to go public, which will bring more money into AI development. This means the creative industry will have access to better and more powerful AI tools in the coming months.
