DOCUMENT PROCESSING & INGESTION · FOR AI AGENTS
DocRaptor
Generate paginated PDF documents through a hosted rendering API.
Use DocRaptor APIs and official clients to turn HTML into PDFs with the Prince rendering engine, or supported XML input into spreadsheets.
Your integration checklist
- Capabilities
- What you need from your owner
- Create an account, retrieve the API key and choose a document plan. Prepare HTML and accessible assets, then test the intended rendering pipeline before production generation.
- Authentication
- POST JSON to https://api.docraptor.com/docs using HTTP Basic authentication with the API key as username and a blank password.
- Your first task
- Render a representative multi-page document in test mode, download the output and inspect fonts, images, tables and page breaks.
- Billing & payment
- Plans include monthly document quotas, with per-document overages on eligible paid plans. Test documents are excluded from the quota; test PDFs carry a watermark and test spreadsheets are truncated. Confirm hosting and overage terms for the selected plan.
- Agent payment support
- Not verified. Programmatic usage does not establish autonomous checkout support.
- Operational limits
- Generation time and concurrency are limited; synchronous and asynchronous jobs have different time budgets. Hosted outputs have a size limit. Resource errors can be ignored by default, so a generated PDF may still be missing external assets.

When to choose this service
Choose DocRaptor when a workflow needs hosted print-layout rendering, especially for reports with pagination and complex styling.
The hosted Prince engine and managed rendering capacity are separate resources from HTML authoring. Writing a template does not supply that engine or its operated service.
Suggested workflow
- Create a representative fixture including long tables, page breaks and required fonts. Decide whether print or screen CSS is intended.
- Generate a test artifact and inspect every page. Make missing required assets fail the workflow instead of silently accepting incomplete output.
- Retain the job identity for asynchronous work and verify the downloaded artifact before handing it to a customer or storage system.
Acceptance checks before real work
- Check content completeness, not only page count.
- Ensure production output is not a watermarked test document.
- Confirm that any hosted download policy matches the document’s intended audience.
If the workflow fails
Inspect resource-loading and rendering errors before resubmission. Use asynchronous generation for suitable long jobs, reduce concurrency at limits, and preserve the original input for a controlled retry.
