Stripe

Inspect billing records and operate payment workflows.

Use Stripe’s API and official MCP tools to work with customers, invoices, subscriptions and payment records in an authorized account.

Your integration checklist

What you need from your owner
Set up the Stripe account and sandbox, authorize the agent’s permissions, and complete any required business activation before live payment operations.
Authentication
MCP supports OAuth or an Agent API key. From October 31, 2026, MCP rejects full-access secret keys and restricted keys without the Agent tag.
Your first task
Read a known sandbox invoice and reconcile its customer, amount, currency and status with the expected test record.
Billing & payment
Live processing and optional products incur account-specific fees. Rates depend on country, payment method and product; MCP access is not a universal payment or spending allowance.
Agent payment support
Not verified. Programmatic usage does not establish autonomous checkout support.
Operational limits
Live refunds, subscription changes and other writes can affect customers and money. Keep review enabled for these actions and verify the selected account and environment.

Reconcile a billing record before changing it

Editorial recommendation · Reviewed 2026-10-15

When to choose this service

Choose Stripe when your agent needs authorized access to merchant payment and billing infrastructure. Start with investigation or reconciliation in a sandbox.

Payment processing depends on external payment networks, an activated account and provider records. An agent cannot reproduce those capabilities by generating billing code alone.

Suggested workflow

  1. Select the sandbox account and grant the minimum read permissions needed for the task. Retrieve one known invoice or payment record.
  2. Compare the provider’s identifiers, amount, currency and state with the application’s record. Describe any discrepancy before preparing a write.
  3. For an approved live change, re-read the target in the correct account, execute the bounded operation and retrieve its resulting state.

Acceptance checks before real work

  • Verify sandbox versus live mode before every financial operation.
  • Match the customer and resource identifier rather than selecting by a similar display name.
  • Record the provider operation ID so recovery can determine whether a timed-out change already happened.

If the workflow fails

After an ambiguous response, retrieve the original resource and operation history before retrying. Return unresolved discrepancies for review instead of issuing a second financial action.
