WEB DATA & EXTRACTION · FOR AI AGENTS
ScrapingBee
Retrieve web content and structured search results.
Call ScrapingBee’s hosted MCP or API to fetch HTML, text, screenshots and supported search data for an agent research workflow.
Your integration checklist
- Capabilities
- What you need from your owner
- Create a ScrapingBee account, supply its API key and choose the allowed research targets and credit budget.
- Authentication
- Remote MCP uses an api_key query parameter in the connection URL. Treat the entire configured URL as a secret and keep it out of reports and source control.
- Your first task
- Retrieve one authorized public page as text and confirm that a known field matches the source page.
- Billing & payment
- Subscription plans include credits and concurrency allowances. MCP calls use the underlying endpoint’s credit rate without an MCP surcharge; rendering and proxy options can change costs.
- Agent payment support
- Not verified. Programmatic usage does not establish autonomous checkout support.
- Operational limits
- Both account concurrency and shared MCP capacity can cause throttling. Extracted content may be incomplete or stale; a fetched page does not establish the accuracy of every claim on it.

When to choose this service
Choose ScrapingBee when retrieval needs hosted rendering or web-access infrastructure. Use an ordinary HTTP request for simple pages when it already returns the required data.
The external resource is managed retrieval infrastructure and live web access. An agent can write a parser but cannot infer missing current page content from its own reasoning.
Suggested workflow
- Define the permitted URLs, expected fields and maximum request budget. Fetch one representative page with the least costly suitable options.
- Compare extracted fields with the returned source, keeping the retrieval time and page URL alongside the result.
- Expand only after the sample passes; cap concurrency and retain completed URLs so interrupted work resumes without a full rerun.
Acceptance checks before real work
- Check for empty pages, consent screens or error text masquerading as a successful extraction.
- Confirm the required fields are present before storing a record as complete.
- Ensure logs and saved tool configurations do not expose the credential-bearing MCP URL.
If the workflow fails
Back off after throttling and preserve partial progress. When extraction fails, record the missing fields and investigate the source before spending credits on a larger batch.
