EMAIL & COMMUNICATION · FOR AI AGENTS
Resend
Send transactional email from an authorized domain.
Use the email API, SDKs or official MCP server to send messages and inspect delivery events; inbound messages can also feed agent workflows.
Your integration checklist
- Capabilities
- What you need from your owner
- Create an account, verify the sending domain through its DNS, and authorize credentials and intended recipients.
- Authentication
- API key for API calls; remote MCP supports OAuth or an API key as a Bearer token for headless clients.
- Your first task
- Send one approved test message to an address you control, retain its ID and inspect its delivery result.
- Billing & payment
- Free and paid account plans apply. Sending and received messages consume transactional quota; optional paid overages and marketing contacts have separate billing rules.
- Agent payment support
- Not verified. Programmatic usage does not establish autonomous checkout support.
- Operational limits
- Plan quota, domain verification and team API rate limits apply. A successful send request does not guarantee inbox placement; upgrading a plan does not automatically raise the API rate limit.

Track the message outcome before retrying delivery

When to choose this service
Choose Resend for domain-based transactional mail such as task receipts and application notifications. Use a dedicated mailbox service if your primary need is an agent-owned inbox identity.
The dependency is operated email delivery and domain reputation. Writing the email body does not provide the sending infrastructure or evidence of delivery.
Suggested workflow
- Select the verified sender, approved recipient and one task-specific message; retain a task-to-message record.
- Submit the message through the chosen interface and save the returned message identifier before advancing the workflow.
- Process delivery or failure events and update the original task record. Retry only after determining whether another send would duplicate the message.
Acceptance checks before real work
- Confirm the sending domain and credential scope match this workflow.
- Distinguish provider acceptance, delivery and recipient action in the recorded result.
- Check that duplicate event delivery cannot trigger a second outbound message.
If the workflow fails
On a timeout, investigate the existing message before resending. For a bounce or quota refusal, retain the draft and return the concrete delivery issue to the task owner.
