People Data Labs Company Enrichment

Match company identifiers against a maintained business dataset.

Use the Company Enrichment API or SDKs to resolve a website, company profile or other identifier into a company record with a match-confidence score.

Your integration checklist

What you need from your owner
Create a People Data Labs account, obtain an API key and select Company API credits and field access. Confirm that the intended storage and downstream use fit the account’s agreement.
Authentication
Send the API key in the X-Api-Key header or initialize an official SDK with it. Company enrichment is available at https://api.peopledatalabs.com/v5/company/enrich.
Your first task
Enrich one known company using its website and inspect the returned identity, likelihood and required fields before updating any business record.
Billing & payment
Company enrichment charges per successful match. Free and paid plans provide different record allowances and field access; bulk licensed delivery is a separate option. Confirm the Company plan and overage settings before running a batch.
Agent payment support
Not verified. Programmatic usage does not establish autonomous checkout support.
Operational limits
A 200 response supplies a candidate match, not certainty. Unmatched requests return 404; absent fields can be null. Rate limits are separate per key and endpoint, with credit and rate information in response headers.

Resolve company identity before writing enrichment into your system

When to choose this service

Choose this service when research or account workflows need maintained company records rather than a model’s recollection of a business.

The externally collected and maintained company dataset is the scarce resource. Ordinary code can join records but cannot supply the underlying current business information or its licensed access.

Suggested workflow

  1. Prefer a known website or company profile over a name-only query. Define a minimum acceptable likelihood and which fields the task actually needs.
  2. Compare the returned company identity with the original input. Keep ambiguous matches for review and retain missing fields as unknown.
  3. Write accepted results with their provider record ID and retrieval time. Monitor match credits and endpoint limits before increasing batch size.

Acceptance checks before real work

  • Check domain and identity before merging similarly named companies.
  • Treat match confidence separately from the freshness of each field.
  • Preserve null values instead of filling gaps with generated facts.

If the workflow fails

For 404 responses, inspect the identifiers before retrying with broader guesses. For an incorrect match, stop the downstream update and refine the query. Use response headers to pace requests when limits are reached.
