Pricing a free AI text generator in words per month

October 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Just over 1,060,000 words a month. That is what a free rewind.ai account's daily pool buys in usable text over thirty days, if the whole pool goes to short paragraphs like the eleven I measured, read off the site's own usage ledger.

Every generator I read for this query says free. None says free for how many words. To a reader who buys sizing tables for a living, that is a slogan, not a price.

How the figures were taken

Three briefs an analyst would send: a one-paragraph market summary on smart thermostats, an email asking an existing vendor for a revised quote on docking stations, and a product blurb for a warehouse inventory app. All on rewind.ai's AI Writer, Short setting, Professional tone, no extra instructions. Eleven runs completed across the three: four summaries, four emails, three blurbs.

Words were counted on the output; cost came from the usage ledger, never the balance. A paragraph cost 8 to 16 tokens across the eleven and came back at 53 to 151 words, median 69, which is modest. The numbers fit a roughly fixed cost per run: the longer emails came out cheapest per word, the short blurbs dearest. The emails arrive with fill-in brackets for names; I counted those as words.

Article image 1 Three writer outputs, each under its Copy and Download buttons: the smart-thermostat paragraph, the first lines of the vendor email with "[Vendor Name]" left to fill in, and the StockPilot product blurb.

The arithmetic

Across the eleven runs the writer charged 10.6 to 15.09 tokens per hundred words, with a median of 13.64.

The writer's page puts the daily pool at 2,500 tokens for a visitor with no account and 5,000 for anyone signed in free. The cheapest paid step is $5 a month on monthly billing, a little less billed annually, for 200,000 tokens on top of the daily pool.

One division, to check by hand. Take the free account's 5,000 tokens, set aside 150 (in an earlier test the writer would not start below that), divide by 13.64 and multiply by a hundred. That leaves just over 35,000 words a day at the eleven-run median. At the dearest run, 15.09 per hundred words, the same sum gives just over 32,000.

The anonymous pool comes to a little over 17,000 words a day on the same eleven runs, or 235 Short runs at the median of 10 tokens a run, if nobody else on the connection draws on it. Over thirty days, still on those eleven runs, that is more than 510,000 words without an account and more than 1,060,000 with a free one. The $5 step adds more than 1,460,000 words a month on top of the free pool, on the same eleven runs.

The pool is per connection

The anonymous 2,500 belongs to the IP address, not the person. When I opened a browser with no cookies at all, 987 of that day's 2,500 were already spent. A separate run from it, with no account, returned the market summary at 69 words for 10 tokens, in line with the other runs of that brief. An office behind one network shares one anonymous pool. The fix is a free account and its 5,000 a day.

Article image 2 The header shows no account, just the login and sign-up buttons. A free-tokens sign-up box covers the middle of the form, and the smart-thermostat paragraph shows in full below it.

What the others will tell you

I did not run the three rivals. Their own pages, fetched in 2026, say this.

smallseotools.co.uk, the AI Paragraph Generator, promises "No sign-up, instant results." Its list of advantages adds "Unlimited usage". That is the page's word, not mine: it states no output length per run, so there is nothing to multiply. Every generation goes through a required "Image Verification" step, a Google reCAPTCHA. Under the form a notice reads: "Your input and generated text content may be stored for evaluation purposes."

anakin.ai is the only one of the three that meters. Its FAQ says "You can register for free to start using Anakin", and the free plan gives 30 free credits a day and "Supports only the Gemini model". It also says "Different AI models consume credits differently." That sentence is the problem. Nothing on the page says what one run costs, so 30 credits a day cannot be turned into words. Paid plans start from $9.90 a month on yearly billing; month to month costs more.

perchance.org makes the strongest free claim I found for this query, in its title: "AI Text Generator (free, no sign-up, unlimited)". The page says "there are no limits/restrictions on daily usage" and that no login is needed. If that is true, it out-produces any capped pool, rewind's included, and no arithmetic changes that. It states no per-run length, and I did not run it, so I can neither confirm the claim nor plan against it.

Article image 3 The top of the AI Paragraph Generator form: a title or keyword field, a description box, then tone and audience menus. Article image 4 With Yearly selected, the Free card shows "30 free credits / day", and Basic shows $9.90 a month for 9,000 credits a month.

Ranking

  1. rewind.ai. The only free tier of the four that converts into a monthly word figure from its own ledger: over 1,060,000 words a month on a free account, on eleven runs. Works without an account; a free account raises the pool from 2,500 to 5,000 tokens a day. rewind's ai without login page, a catalogue of its free tools that need no account, lists the writer as the Writer tile under "Our Free Popular Tools".
  2. perchance.org. On paper the most generous: no daily limit and no login, by its own title. If the claim holds, it beats rewind on volume outright. Second only because a claim without a number cannot be planned against, and I did not run it.
  3. smallseotools.co.uk. No account, and "Unlimited usage" in its own words, but a captcha before every paragraph and a storage notice. Fine for one paragraph, tiring for fifty.
  4. anakin.ai. Asks you to register, then gives 30 credits a day without saying what a run costs. Paid from $9.90 a month.

When free runs out

Once the free pool runs dry, the $5 monthly step is the marginal supplier. At the eleven-run median its 200,000 tokens buy text at $0.0034 per thousand words, and that is the number an analyst's note should end on.
